Job Description

Our client, a service based organization located in Halifax, NS is seeking an Interim Director, Finance to provide financial leadership to it's long standing organization. This is a 2-3 month contract with strong potential for permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

  • Prepare period-end financial statements and working papers
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Record period-end adjustments
  • Prepare schedules and documentation for external audits
  • Coordinate year-end tax filings
  • Manage a small accounting team
  • Other year-end related duties and projects as assigned
Experience & Attributes for Success:
  • Chartered Professional Accountant designation
  • Proven experience in a lead finance role, ideally within a privately held business environment
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to see the big picture while also ensuring attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a hands-on, collaborative approach
  • Self-motivated and results oriented
