We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain the accuracy of our inventory within our Milwaukee, Wisconsin warehouse. This critical role ensures that our stock levels are precise, organized, and readily available for our logistics operations. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, implementing inventory control procedures, and ensuring the integrity of our stock data. A strong understanding of warehouse management systems and a commitment to safety and efficiency are vital. This position is key to optimizing our supply chain performance and minimizing stockouts or overstock situations. Your expertise will be invaluable to our operations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Implement and maintain effective inventory control procedures and policies.
- Manage stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) and monitor product shelf life.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor stock levels and report on potential shortages or overages.
- Coordinate with other departments, including receiving, shipping, and operations, to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and organization of all inventory items.
- Adhere to all company safety guidelines and promote a culture of safety.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times in designated areas.
- May involve occasional Lifting of items up to 40 lbs for verification.
- Support the overall logistics and supply chain strategy.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role. Proficiency with WMS software and inventory control techniques. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Basic understanding of warehousing and logistics principles. A commitment to safety and quality is a must.
