Are you an experienced Forklift Operator looking for a stable career in Jacksonville, Florida? Our busy logistics center is seeking a skilled individual to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently. This role is critical for the movement of goods within our warehouse, ensuring inventory is stored, retrieved, and dispatched correctly. You will be responsible for operating forklifts, managing palletized goods, and maintaining a safe working environment. This position demands precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols. Regular lifting and maneuvering of materials are part of the job, and a commitment to safety is non-negotiable. We provide all necessary training and require strict adherence to safety regulations and the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and into storage areas.
- Move inventory within the warehouse to designated locations.
- Assist with receiving and shipping processes.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including OSHA standards and proper PPE usage.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements.
- Participate in inventory counts and checks.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to optimize workflow.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Ability to perform occasional heavy lifting as needed.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and practices.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours if needed.
- Commitment to a safe work environment and proper use of PPE.
