We are looking for a dedicated Material Handler to join our logistics team in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for the physical movement and organization of materials within the warehouse. This position is vital for maintaining efficient operations and ensuring that goods are handled safely and accurately. Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, and sort incoming materials and products.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other transport vehicles using appropriate equipment.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other equipment.
- Store materials in assigned locations, ensuring proper organization and inventory accuracy.
- Perform routine checks on equipment and report any issues to supervision.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Wear and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent bending, stooping, and lifting.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 60 pounds regularly.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment and material handling techniques.
- Understanding of general logistics and supply chain principles.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and following instructions.
- Good stamina and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
