Our Detroit, Michigan distribution center is looking for a certified Forklift Operator. This critical role ensures the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve inventory, load and unload trucks, and maintain the organization of our storage areas. A strong commitment to safety, precision, and efficiency is essential. You will be an integral part of our logistics operations, ensuring that goods are handled properly and safely. - Safely operating forklifts to move, stack, and rearrange inventory.
- Loading and unloading trucks and trailers with efficiency and care.
- Transporting materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Ensuring proper storage and organization of goods.
- Conducting daily pre-operation checks on forklifts and reporting any issues.
- Adhering strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the use of PPE.
- Assisting with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Supporting the overall logistics and material handling team.
- Following safe lifting practices when manual handling is required.
Candidates must possess a valid forklift operator certification and have previous experience operating various types of forklifts. A keen awareness of safety protocols and the ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, are necessary. This role is fundamental to our logistics chain, ensuring that materials are moved efficiently and securely.
