Job Summary:
We are hiring a dedicated Material Handler for our bustling warehouse facility in Detroit, Michigan. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in the movement and organization of goods throughout our logistics operation. Your responsibilities will include receiving, storing, and distributing materials, ensuring that inventory is managed efficiently and safely. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to workplace Safety. You will be operating various pieces of equipment and working closely with other warehouse personnel to meet daily operational goals. Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload materials from trucks and other conveyances.
  • Move materials to and from production, storage, and/or shipping areas.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect equipment for safety and maintenance issues before use.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by ensuring all items are properly labeled and stored.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining warehouse cleanliness.
  • Support inventory control activities and participate in cycle counts.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding material flow.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
  • Certification to operate forklifts is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform consistent Lifting of heavy materials, up to 75 lbs.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and Material Handling best practices.
  • Basic understanding of inventory management principles.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and using all required PPE.
