IT Services Audio Visual provides the necessary tools for teaching and learning.
About the Role
Provides support and assistance to clients (students, faculty and staff) of SFU as well as external customers in audio visual (events), minor hardware and software issues and network connectivity. Provides support in ensuring the timely setup, operation and tear down of classroom and events according to the client's requests. Ensures quality customer service and professionalism. Responsible for logging, prioritizing and actively resolving incidents as well as client requests for service and proper management and quality control of AV inventory.

Qualifications
High school graduation and general courses or training of moderate duration (one semester or equivalent) in audio-visual technology. 1 year of related experience. An equivalent combination of formal education, certificate/program of study and experience is acceptable.
- Ability to perform the setup, operation and troubleshooting of basic audio-visual equipment.
- Good knowledge in the setup and operation of video control & projection systems, video conferencing technologies and video signal flow.
- Good knowledge in the setup of microphones (wired & wireless), analog & digital mixing boards, basic PA setup and audio signal management.
- Good knowledge in troubleshooting computers, software, mobile devices, networks and operating systems (e.g. Windows, OS X, iOS and Android).
- Good knowledge of common software application for web browsing, office productivity, presentations, communications and anti-virus.

Additional Information
The assignment start/end dates are: January 2, 2026 to April 25, 2026.
Priority will be given to qualified registered SFU students who must submit a Spring 2026 class schedule with their application. This is a part-time position working variable hours biweekly. There are up to 15 positions available.
