We are hiring a dedicated Material Handler to join our busy logistics center in Columbus, Ohio. As a Material Handler, you will be instrumental in the efficient movement and organization of goods within our facility. Your responsibilities will include loading and unloading shipments, moving materials to and from storage, and ensuring the workspace is kept organized and safe. This role is vital to our supply chain operations and requires a strong commitment to teamwork and adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading materials from trucks, containers, and other vehicles.
- Transporting materials between different areas of the warehouse using pallet jacks and other equipment.
- Organizing and storing materials in designated locations to maintain an efficient workflow.
- Preparing materials for shipment by staging and ensuring proper handling.
- Performing regular inventory counts and assisting with stock management.
- Maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work environment in compliance with all logistics safety regulations.
- Identifying and reporting any damaged or misplaced materials.
- Following all company procedures and operational guidelines.
- Strictly adhering to all safety rules, including the proper use of PPE.
- Collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a material handling or warehouse role is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Understanding of warehouse safety best practices and the importance of PPE.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to work on your feet for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions.
- Basic reading and math skills are necessary.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
