Our dynamic logistics facility in Charlotte, North Carolina, is seeking a highly skilled Inventory Control Specialist. This role is essential for maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our inventory processes, ensuring seamless operations. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including conducting cycle counts, reconciling stock discrepancies, analyzing inventory data, and implementing best practices. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical mindset, exceptional organizational abilities, and a thorough understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory control systems. Experience with WMS and ERP software is a must. A commitment to safety, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is non-negotiable. Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute daily cycle counting programs to ensure high levels of inventory accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve all inventory discrepancies identified through counts, receiving, or shipping processes.
- Maintain the integrity of inventory data within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and ERP systems.
- Develop, implement, and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory control.
- Monitor inventory levels, track stock movement, and identify potential stock-outs or overstock situations.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and recommend improvements.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of inventory, including adherence to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles.
- Collaborate with warehouse operations, procurement, and customer service teams to address inventory-related issues.
- Generate regular reports on inventory accuracy, stock status, and operational performance for management review.
- Uphold strict safety standards, ensuring all inventory activities comply with company policies and the correct use of PPE.
- Participate in cross-training initiatives and assist colleagues as needed.
- Contribute to process improvement projects aimed at enhancing inventory efficiency and reducing costs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of direct experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Demonstrated expertise in using WMS and ERP systems (e.g., Manhattan, SAP, Oracle).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent understanding of inventory management principles and best practices in logistics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Must be physically capable of performing warehouse duties, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
