Our Seattle, Washington facility is seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our essential logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials throughout the warehouse. Your duties will include operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks, loading and unloading trucks, and managing inventory. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, a commitment to safety, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, ensuring proper securing and placement.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas within the warehouse.
- Receive, identify, and stock incoming materials according to established procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Ensure work areas are kept clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Assist in maintaining the overall efficiency and effectiveness of logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid forklift operator certification or demonstrated proficiency.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse/logistics role.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and the correct use of PPE.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
