We are seeking a skilled Fleet Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy-duty diesel engines and equipment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, experience with heavy machinery, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Fleet Diesel Mechanic will ensure all fleet vehicles and equipment operate safely and reliably to support our operational needs.
*Duties*
* Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC systems.
* Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, shocks & struts replacement, brake repairs, and wheel alignments.
* Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues across various equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and tractor-trailers.
* Fabricate parts or components as needed using power tools and welding equipment.
* Repair and maintain heavy equipment including Caterpillar machinery, industrial equipment, and other heavy-duty vehicles.
* Conduct electrical repairs such as soldering and wiring diagnostics for vehicle systems.
* Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of fleet assets.
* Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed.
* Operate heavy machinery safely during repair or testing procedures when necessary.
*Qualifications*
* Proven experience as a diesel mechanic with dealership or heavy equipment repair background preferred.
* Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, and HVAC components.
* Experience working with schematics and technical manuals for complex machinery.
* Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
* Familiarity with vehicle maintenance for various types of vehicles including tractor-trailers, farm machinery, industrial equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy-duty machinery.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality workmanship.
* Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $29.13 - $45.00 per hour
