We are seeking a diligent and organized Shipping Clerk to manage our outbound logistics in Sacramento, California. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all customer orders are accurately prepared, documented, and dispatched efficiently and safely. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be instrumental in maintaining customer satisfaction by guaranteeing timely and correct shipments. Responsibilities:
- Prepare customer orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy in item and quantity.
- Accurately record shipment details, including destination, weight, and carrier information.
- Generate shipping labels and necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with carriers for package pickups and deliveries.
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage and proper packaging before dispatch.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping dock area.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies and the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control and stock checks as needed.
- Troubleshoot any shipping-related issues and communicate resolutions.
- This role involves some lifting of packages, typically up to 40 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and general computer skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a busy environment.
- Effective communication skills.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and occasionally lift items.
- A strong commitment to safety and proper use of PPE.
