We are seeking experienced and certified Forklift Operators to join our growing team in Durham, North Carolina. As a Forklift Operator, you will play a vital role in the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts to load and unload trucks, transporting materials to and from storage areas, and assisting with inventory management. Safety is our utmost priority, and all operators are required to strictly adhere to safety regulations, including the mandatory use of PPE and proper lifting techniques. The ideal candidate possesses a current forklift certification, a strong understanding of warehouse operations, and a proven track record of safe operation. This role is fundamental to our logistics network, ensuring the smooth flow of products through our facility.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, load, and unload pallets and materials.
- Transport products to and from receiving, storage, and shipping areas.
- Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of forklift equipment and report any deficiencies.
- Assist with inventory control, including cycle counts and put-away processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, free from obstructions.
- Strictly follow all safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE and safe lifting procedures.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and logistics.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve operational efficiency.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance skills and safety awareness.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Thorough knowledge of warehouse safety standards and lifting techniques.
- Proficiency in the use of PPE and understanding of its importance.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
