We are seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Sacramento, California. This role is crucial to our daily operations, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately processed, documented, and prepared for transit. You will be responsible for verifying order details against physical shipments, generating shipping labels, and coordinating with carriers to schedule pickups. A strong understanding of shipping software and procedures is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and verify incoming shipments, checking for damages and discrepancies.
- Accurately pick, pack, and label orders for shipment.
- Maintain inventory records and ensure accuracy in the shipping/receiving logs.
- Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding shipping statuses and any issues that arise.
- Operate scanning equipment and computer systems to track inventory and process shipments.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and warehouse procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, which may include some lifting.
- Ensure a clean and organized workspace to promote efficiency and safety.
- Understand and follow all guidelines related to logistics and supply chain management.
- Perform quality checks on outgoing products to ensure they meet standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or warehouse role preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and warehouse best practices is essential.
