We have an exciting opportunity for a Shipping & Receiving Associate in St. Louis, Missouri. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for managing the flow of goods into and out of our distribution center. This role involves accurately documenting shipments, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring all outgoing orders are prepared correctly and on time. You will also handle the unloading of incoming freight and verify contents against purchase orders. A strong commitment to safety and efficiency is essential. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic warehouse environment. Your attention to detail will ensure the smooth operation of our logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and log incoming shipments.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders and invoices.
- Prepare shipping documents, labels, and bills of lading.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for timely pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities.
- Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment as needed.
- Ensure the dock area is clean, organized, and safe.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE and safe lifting practices.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a related logistics role.
- Familiarity with shipping software and documentation.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of warehouse safety standards and the importance of PPE.
- Basic computer skills.
