This is a rare opportunity to join at the start of something big. The excitement of a startup with the security of a big, established company. We are helping a large UK‑owned software group to build and scale a world‑class, AI‑first engineering organisation in Manchester. They have very ambitious plans and the budget to make it happen. As one of the first and most important hires, they are looking for an architect to define and evolve the architecture for a cutting‑edge, cloud‑native platform. If you have an AI‑first mindset and a strong understanding of SaaS architecture, including data strategy, this could be the job you’re looking for. You’ll work closely with engineering and product teams to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with business goals. This role combines strategic vision with hands‑on design, offering the chance to influence technology standards and mentor technical leaders across multiple greenfield projects. Qualifications
Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or Principal Architect in complex systems Strong understanding of AI technologies Strong knowledge of cloud‑native architectures (microservices, distributed systems) Expertise in secure‑by‑design principles and modern security practices Experience with API design, integration patterns, and modern frameworks (e.g., Node.js, .NET, React) Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Benefits
