Our Des Moines, Iowa location is seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team. The Receiving Clerk is the first point of contact for inbound goods, ensuring that all shipments are accurately accounted for, inspected, and processed efficiently. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate inventory records and support smooth warehouse operations. You will be instrumental in managing the flow of materials into our facility, contributing directly to the effectiveness of our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Receive all inbound shipments, verifying contents against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Inspect goods for any damage or discrepancies, documenting findings appropriately.
- Enter received items into the inventory management system accurately and promptly.
- Tag and stage incoming materials for put-away or further processing.
- Coordinate with vendors and shipping carriers regarding delivery schedules and issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and audits as needed.
- Follow all company Safety protocols and ensure proper use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a receiving or inventory control role is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP software.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and attention to detail.
