Role Objective
The Technical Sales Account Manager is responsible for expanding revenue by growing existing accounts and securing new ones. Success comes from a consultative, solutions-focused approach: uncovering customer problems, shaping the right solution, and guiding opportunities from first conversation to close.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Account Growth
- Qualify new opportunities by assessing market potential and customer fit.
- Prospect, generate leads, and actively pursue new accounts.
- Grow and deepen relationships within assigned accounts to uncover new programs and increase share of wallet.
- Conduct regular customer visits to understand operations, discover needs, and influence buying decisions.
- Prepare strategic account plans, identify targets, and forecast future revenue opportunities.
Sales Execution
- Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations.
- Create quotes independently or in collaboration with inside sales.
- Work closely with the RPM team to move deals through the pipeline and ensure every effort is made to close.
- Achieve monthly sales and gross profit targets.
- Record all activities, opportunities, and customer data in HubSpot CRM.
Customer Relationship Leadership
- Resolve customer concerns with professionalism and urgency.
- Build long-term relationships that position RPM as a strategic partner—not just a supplier.
- Maintain a positive, solutions-oriented approach when engaging with internal teams and customers.
Professional Standards
- Uphold RPM's core values in all interactions.
- Demonstrate strong self-motivation, time management, and ownership of results.
- Keep an organized, efficient workspace.
- Participate in weekly one-on-ones, team meetings, and quarterly business reviews.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Post-secondary education (Sales, Marketing, Technical disciplines preferred).
- Minimum 3 years in industrial or technical sales.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Comfortable working with Engineers, Mechanical Designers, and Purchasing teams.
- Ability to read drawings/specifications.
- Proven ability to set goals, manage priorities, and persist through challenges.
- Skilled in persuasion, negotiation, and relationship building.
- Proficient in MS Office and CRM systems (HubSpot experience an asset).
- Strong presentation and proposal development skills.
- Results-oriented with a high sense of ownership.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including occasional overnight travel.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Burlington, ON L7P 1A1
