Hall Constructors Heavy Duty Equipment Technician

Job Description
Your day-to-day will look like:
Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of heavy equipment including excavators, crawler tractors, wheel loaders, articulated trucks, and other construction equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime.
Work with preferred equipment brands such as CAT, Komatsu, John Deere, and Volvo.
Provide support and mentorship to apprentices, ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
Operate and maintain a contractor-supplied service truck with required equipment and certifications.
Maintain accurate records of service, repairs, and inspections.
Follow Hall safety policies and WorkSafeBC regulations while performing all work.
Ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

Qualifications
Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic certification.
Minimum 5 years of experience servicing and repairing heavy construction equipment.
Familiarity with major construction equipment brands (CAT, Komatsu, John Deere, Volvo)

Valid driver's license.

Technical Skills
Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on heavy equipment.
Proficiency in welding and equipment boosting (12VDC / 24VDC).
Skilled in using diagnostic tools and onboard systems.
Capable of performing crane-supported lifts with a hydraulic service truck crane.
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently in the field or shop environment.

Compensation & Benefits

$55/hour (Union Rate)
