Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee our Portable Toilets Division for our Hamilton and New Dundee locations. This role ensures safe, compliant, and high-quality service delivery while managing staffing, performance, logistics, customer service, and financial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management:
Lead and manage multi-site operations, including hiring, training, onboarding, performance reviews, and succession planning. Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performance culture. - Operational Oversight:
Coordinate routing, dispatching, and field service to ensure timely and efficient service delivery. Monitor daily operations and adjust plans to address staffing, equipment, or customer needs. - Safety & Compliance:
Ensure adherence to safety, health, environmental, and transportation regulations across all sites. Conduct safety audits, inspections, and training sessions. - Customer Relations:
Address escalated customer issues promptly and maintain strong relationships with key accounts. Review recurring issues and implement process improvements. - Financial Management:
Manage operational budgets, track costs, identify inefficiencies, and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality. Support forecasting and capital planning. - Reporting & Communication:
Provide weekly operational reports and updates to senior leadership. Maintain clear and consistent communication between facilities, technicians, and customer service teams. - Emergency Response:
Act as the primary decision-maker for after-hours incidents, emergency callouts, and high-priority service requests. Coordinate resources and communicate updates effectively. - Continuous Improvement:
Identify operational inefficiencies and implement improvements to enhance productivity, safety, and profitability. Encourage employee-driven initiatives to optimize operations.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of management experience in operations, sanitation, or environmental services.
- Proven experience managing multi-site operations, budgets, and teams.
- Knowledge of Ontario health, safety, environmental, and transportation regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with operational reporting tools and workforce management software (Dayforce preferred).
- Post-secondary education in Business, Operations Management, Environmental Services, or related field is an asset.
