We are seeking 2 High School Teachers to add to our expanding team at Heritage Academy for second semester (February 2-June 27). There are opportunities for contracts to be renewed for the 2026/2027 year.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and hands-on learning, ability to inspire students to reach their full potential and experience teaching neurodiverse students.
About the School
Heritage Academy is a Ministry of Education–inspected private high school offering OSSD-bound programming in a supportive, student-centered environment. We specialize in working with neurodiverse learners and provide instructional and assessment accommodations while maintaining Ontario curriculum expectations.
Our school is known for small class sizes, individualized instruction, and a strong sense of community.
Position Overview
We are seeking two versatile and dedicated Ontario-certified high school teachers who are comfortable teaching a wide range of subject areas and supporting students who require accommodations. The successful candidates will value inclusive practices, flexibility, and collaborative problem-solving.
Subjects May Include (but are not limited to):
- Grade 9 Science
- Grade 9 Geography
- Technology & Trades
- Business Studies
- Other intermediate and senior courses based on qualifications and school needs
Class Sizes
- Grade 9 classes: maximum of 15 students
- Grade 11–12 classes: typically 5–7 students
Senior Teacher(2 positions) - 8:15-4:00 p.m. February 2 - June 27
Responsibilities:
- Teach a varied course load across multiple subject areas
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with Ontario curriculum
- Implement and support accommodations as required
- Assess, evaluate, and report on student progress toward OSSD requirements
- Create a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and administration
- Participate in staff meetings, reporting periods, and school events
Required Qualifications:
- Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification in good standing (required)
- Experience working with neurodiverse students
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and assessment
- Effective classroom management and relationship-building skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Special Education, Part 1 (or higher)
- Ability to teach multiple subject areas

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 4.5 months
Pay: $37.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
