Role Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, intellectually curious, critical and strategic thinker to join our Firm as a
Law Librarian
. Reporting to the Library Team Lead, the Law Librarian will provide reference, current awareness, and technical services to our legal community.

This is a full-time position with some flexibility regarding work hours. You will work a maximum of 4 days a week and be required to work from the office 2-3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle complex legal research questions that span jurisdictions and practice areas and can be closer to the work of a law student. The bulk of our questions come from partners and associates and are quite interesting. We need a passionate individual with an investigative and inquiring mind, who enjoys getting to the bottom of a question and is not intimidated by lawyers.
- Manage the provision of current awareness services, which includes monitoring practice area developments and creating and preparing daily and weekly alerts, as well as sending out e-journals and evaluating usage of resources and recommending new tools.
- Develop our intellectual capital and opportunities to leverage generative AI tools, and emerging technologies to enhance research efficiency, accuracy, and insight, while exercising professional judgment, validation, and ethical oversight.
- Technical services, including cataloguing resources; ordering books and processing invoices; setting up passwords and troubleshooting library-related IT problems
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Master's degree in Library Science, Information Studies, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Experience providing reference and research services in a law firm or legal library environment.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and comfort working across multiple digital platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to learn, evaluate, and apply emerging technologies, including generative AI tools, legal research platforms, and knowledge-management systems, to improve research outcomes and workflows.
- Understanding of the opportunities, limitations, and ethical considerations associated with AI-assisted legal research, including validation, confidentiality, and responsible use.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging directly with lawyers and staff by phone, email, and in person.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members and stakeholders across the firm.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret usage data and trends to inform recommendations and continuous improvement.
