Job Description Principal Quantitative UX Researcher

Fidelity Investments’ UX Research & Design Strategy team is looking for a Principal Quantitative UX Researcher to join our team and help us improve our current and future digital products. This role involves conducting quantitative user research studies, analyzing data, and generating actionable insights to enhance user experiences within the financial services industry.

The UX Research & Design Strategy team develops a variety of new products to improve financial wellbeing. As part of an innovation engine, our small cross-functional team also explores emerging market opportunities to meet customer needs and make an impact at scale.

We seek a UX research professional skilled in both quantitative and qualitative methods to assess and report on user experience and make actionable recommendations. The ideal candidate will have experience in planning, conducting, and synthesizing exploratory, foundational, and evaluative research, with a willingness to learn new methodologies and a deep desire to uncover consumer insights guiding product design.

Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To

Conduct quantitative user research studies, such as usability testing, A/B testing, tree testing, card sorting, and surveys.

Design studies addressing user behaviors and attitudes, understanding user mindsets.

Develop and implement test plans using tools like UserTesting, Optimal Workshop, Qualtrics, etc.

Analyze research data with statistical techniques.

Synthesize data to derive insights and communicate findings through storytelling.

Prepare reports, present findings, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The Expertise And Skills You Bring

Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience in UX research or quantitative methods.

Proficiency in statistical analysis, including confidence intervals, T-tests, ANOVA.

Experience with software like R, SPSS, SAS, or Excel functions.

Ability to generate cross-tabs, pivot tables, charts, and graphs.

Strong collaboration and independent working skills.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Project management experience or equivalent ability to handle multiple streams.

Systems thinking, organization, attention to detail, and time management.

Experience with MS Office, user research tools, and UX methodologies.

Familiarity with collaborative tools like Mural, Miro, Figma.

Willingness to learn new methods and tools.
