Join our efficient Logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa, as a Shipping Clerk! We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to manage the preparation and dispatch of outgoing shipments. Your role is vital in ensuring that orders are correctly packaged, documented, and sent out on time, contributing to customer satisfaction and the seamless operation of our warehouse.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipments for dispatch, including accurate picking, packing, and labeling.
- Verify that orders match shipping documents and customer requirements.
- Operate shipping software to create shipping labels and track packages.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and manage outgoing freight.
- Conduct quality checks on outgoing packages to ensure proper packaging and product protection.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area, adhering to all Safety regulations.
- Document all shipping activities accurately within the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Assist with loading trucks when necessary, ensuring packages are handled carefully.
- Wear appropriate PPE, such as safety vests and gloves, when performing duties.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related Logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including moderate Lifting (up to 30 lbs), standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to upholding Safety standards and procedures.
