Substance Misuse Nurse – Birmingham Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Substance Misuse Nurse to join one of our clients in Birmingham. Pay Rate: £30 Ltd per hour Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Contract Type: Temporary (approximately 2 months) with the potential for extension Start Date: ImmediateRole Overview You will deliver high-quality clinical care to individuals accessing substance misuse services. This includes conducting assessments, supporting detoxification processes, and promoting health and wellbeing. Key Responsibilities Undertake physical and mental health assessments and ensure appropriate referrals to primary or secondary healthcare services. Complete alcohol assessments in line with CGL Alcohol Policy to determine safe detoxification requirements. Assist in opioid titration to achieve optimal OST dosing, liaising with team members and community pharmacists. Provide education, health promotion, and screening for blood-borne viruses (BBVs), including Hepatitis A/B vaccinations. Work within integrated care pathways for individuals infected with BBVs (Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV). Undertake community alcohol and opioid detoxification at the service or in the service user’s home. Perform phlebotomy, interpret blood results, and use findings to guide treatment decisions and referrals.
