Barista/Cashier

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating high-quality beverages in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a vibrant food industry setting, engaging with customers and honing your skills in food and beverage preparation. Prior barista experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. The position requires strong time management, food safety awareness, and cash handling skills to ensure smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages according to company standards
• Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for order processing and cash handling
• Manage customer orders efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service
• Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling food items and maintaining cleanliness of work areas
• Ensure adherence to food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
• Maintain cleanliness of the workspace, including cleaning equipment and dining areas
• Manage cash register transactions accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
• Provide a welcoming environment for all customers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly

Skills

• Previous Barista experience or background in the food industry is preferred
• Proficiency with POS systems, especially Micros POS, for efficient order processing
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders during busy periods
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
• Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and processing transactions accurately
• Experience with serving, food preparation, and general food service operations is advantageous
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
