Reporting to the Senior Director of Real Estate, the Real Estate Coordinator is responsible for supporting and managing real estate transactions to aid and ensure the expansion and development of MTY's franchised restaurants. They will be responsible for reviewing and supporting the Central and Western real estate teams with reviewing any required documentation for transactions in relation to new sites, renewals, relocations, etc., to efficiently move files through the legal department with the goal of maintaining the existing network of stores (renewals) and growing the network with new locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Work hybrid from the MTY Group Richmond Hill office, maintaining a professional demeanor as a representative of MTY Group.
  • Assist in the preparation of site presentations for brand manager approval. This

requires gathering and compiling information from Brokers, Landlords, and internal systems to format into presentation form.

  • Summarize transactions negotiated by real estate and summarize for legal

department review.

  • Track all documents sent to legal for review.
  • Participate in the preparation and updating of the marketing materials sent to landlord for real estate development of MTY brands.
  • Understanding individual brand requirements and desired locations to communicate with Brokers and Landlords for potential expansion opportunities.
  • Support the annual real estate store development targets.
  • Participate in the annual evaluation of the real estate portfolio in preparation for the renewal of the upcoming lease expiration.
  • Manage renewal trackers to ensure all deadlines are met and to prompt action when deadlines are within 12-18 months.
  • Provide information and analysis of lease clauses that require explanation to

support tenant position.

  • Communicate with brand leaders, and their teams, as required.
  • Collaborate closely with franchising, legal, construction and operations regarding all aspects of transactions and store performance.
  • Help fulfill seamless communication with brand leaders from Real Estate, filling out the required information on company templates.

Main Duties:

  • Managing and updating document statuses through Asana.
  • Gathering all transactional information for approval and legal review
  • Updating Offer to Lease templates, when required, and preparing Offers to Leases

  • Preparing site analysis packages

  • Learning:
  • the Franchise Disclosure Document and Franchise Agreement process;
  • the MTY deal flow;
  • the CRM/SAP system;
  • how to extract information and reports from PiinPoint.

  • Post-secondary education, preferable, or similar work experience
