General Labourer – Pre-Fab Steel Building Erection

KNGC Ltd. is looking for a General Labourer to support our crew in erecting pre-fabricated steel buildings. This job includes helping with steel framing, panels, fasteners, and general site work. We need someone reliable, hardworking, and ready to work in a fast-paced environment.

This is a strong opportunity for someone with construction experience who wants to build skills in steel building assembly.

Your Responsibilities

• Help unload, move, and stage steel components
• Assist with installing steel beams, purlins, girts, wall panels, and roof panels
• Use hand and power tools (drills, impacts, grinders, etc.)
• Support the crew during crane picks and steel alignment
• Help with formwork tasks as needed
• Keep the site clean, safe, and organized
• Follow the Foreman's instructions and work well with the crew
• Wear fall protection and follow all safety rules
• Perform respirator work when required
• Take on general labour tasks such as lifting, carrying, and site prep

Requirements

• 3–5 years of construction experience
• Experience with formwork
• Driver's licence and your own transportation
• Comfortable lifting heavy materials throughout the day
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Comfortable working at heights over 40 feet
• Must be clean-shaven when using a respirator (no beards allowed for respirator fit)
• Able to travel up to 1.5 hours outside Ottawa for occasional out-of-town work
• Able to follow instructions, stay aware on site, and work safely around moving equipment
• Steel or metal building experience is an asset, but not required
• Basic hand tools are helpful; we can supply tools if needed
• Safety certificates (Working at Heights, WHMIS, First Aid) are an advantage

Work Conditions
