Course # and title: SOC350H5S: Quantitative Analysis
Course description: This course examines multivariate regression methods using both linear and logit models. Topics include control variables, model predictions, model assumptions and diagnostics, mediation, moderation, inference, and model fit.

Practicals/Tutorials schedule: Tuesdays 5 - 6pm
Sessional dates of appointment: January 1 - April 30, 2026
Rate of pay: $55.25/hr + 4% vacation pay

Minimum qualification:
Candidates must have at least an MA in Sociology or related field. Must have record of excellence in the subjects covered in the course, demonstrated by referred published research, strong academic record and prior teaching assistantship experience. Must have a good knowledge of regression methods, and the ability to perform basic data management and analysis using R statistical software.
Preferred qualification: Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience teaching statistical methods or as a teaching assistant in course on statistical methods.
Description of duties:
- Lead weekly practical sessions to answer student questions and help them conduct analyses using R statistical software
- Grade student work inlcuding assigments, final exams, papers, etc.
- Other duties as needed in consultation with the course instructor.
