Platform Engineering Leadership: Leads platform-level execution of software and AI/ML systems, ensuring alignment with domain priorities and roadmap milestones. Oversees shared infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks for example, CI/CD, SDKs, model runtimes, feature stores) that support scalable, reusable, and secure development. Guides architectural reviews and system design decisions to ensure maintainability, extensibility, and performance across services. Champions system integration leadership to ensure seamless interoperability and consistency across platforms. Technical Execution & Lifecycle Management: Drives the full software development lifecycleincluding coding, testing, deployment, observability, and ongoing maintenanceacross multiple teams. Champions DevOps architecture and CI/CD practices to streamline delivery, improve reliability, and promote continuous improvement. Implements cloud cost optimization strategies and reduces friction/toil through automation, telemetry, and tooling enhancements. Owns operational delivery and technical excellence, ensuring high system availability, scalability, and incident response preparedness. AI/ML Integration & Product Development: Oversees the design and delivery of robust, AI-integrated software systems that serve millions of customers and associates, ensuring adherence to coding standards, architectural alignment, and cross-platform reliability. Collaborates with product, data science, and engineering teams to build AI/ML-enabled features, intelligent automation, and agentic AI systems. Integrates ML components and AI agents using languages such as Python, Java, Rust, Dart, and TypeScript. Leverages developer tools such as GitHub Copilot to accelerate innovation and enhance engineering velocity. Engineering Leadership: Mentors and develops engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation. Guides engineers and managers through architectural trade-offs, best practices, and career growth opportunities. Ensures technical quality by promoting rigorous testing, code reviews, defect prevention, and adherence to security and compliance standards. Strategic Execution & Stakeholder Management: Owns the execution of complex technical initiatives, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and aligned with business goals. Aligns platform engineering work with broader domain strategies via effective backlog management, milestone tracking, and dependency coordination. Manages stakeholder relationships across engineering, product, and data teams to define priorities and unblock progress. Establishes and tracks operational, functional, and engineering metrics to assess platform success and guide continuous improvement. Technical Ownership: Demonstrates responsibility for deliverables, ensuring solutions meet quality standards and business objectives. Takes initiative to resolve issues and drive projects to completion. Technical Judgment: Applies sound reasoning to make informed technical decisions, balancing trade-offs and considering long-term impacts on system architecture and business goals. Change Agility: Adapts quickly to change, embraces new technologies, and understands the broader system context. Anticipates downstream effects of technical choices and integrates feedback to improve outcomes. Collaboration: Works effectively across teams, openly shares knowledge, and communicates complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years' experience in software engineering or related area. Option 2: 7 years' experience in software engineering or related area. 2 years' supervisory experience. Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
