Our organization is seeking an experienced
Senior Corporate Accountant
to join our finance team. We are a boutique investment firm supporting institutional investors, foundations, and ultra-high-net-worth families. This role is well-suited to a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a sophisticated, high-accountability environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to budgeting processes and support ongoing cash flow planning
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages and assist with the year-end audit
  • Support forecasting activities and conduct detailed variance analysis
  • Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party service providers
  • Ensure compliance with corporate filings, tax submissions, and regulatory requirements
  • Manage full-cycle accounting including payables, receivables, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Monitor daily cash balances and prepare internal transfers following required approvals
  • Partner with banking institutions on operational matters, loan administration, and documentation review
  • Review bank reconciliations for multiple entities including holding companies and family trusts
  • Complete month-end and year-end activities including EHT, HST, and corporate tax filings
  • Maintain tracking schedules for expenses and reconcile payments to approved budgets and agreements
  • Support internal compliance activities including checklists, logs, and regulatory submissions
  • Respond to CRA requests and assist with audit-related inquiries
  • Prepare internal summaries, memos, and process documentation
  • Provide backup support to colleagues and participate in ad hoc projects as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting with a recognized accounting designation
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience, ideally within an investment firm, private company, or family office
  • Solid understanding of Canadian GAAP, tax compliance, and corporate regulatory processes
  • Experience with SAGE or similar accounting systems is an asset
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly organized, proactive, and capable of meeting both internal and external timelines
  • Positive attitude and a continuous improvement mindset
