The Business Analyst, Supply Chain Operations will be responsible for the development and maintenance of business intelligence solutions for BWXT's Supply Chain organization. This role will engage in data analysis and develop comprehensive reporting solutions and packages. The position will implement database solutions to support a wide range of reporting needs, including scorecards, dashboards, and other analytical tools. Key responsibilities include inspecting, transforming, and modeling data while maintaining a strong focus on data verification, validation, integration among core and ancillary systems, and quality control. The Business Analyst will be instrumental in advancing business intelligence initiatives, implementing advanced analytics, and ensuring effective data integration. Collaboration with multiple BWXT locations, diverse functional groups, and external vendors will be essential to drive strategic and operational improvements. The position is expected to work out of one of the BWXT Government Operations locations, but remote options will be considered for well qualified candidates. This role will require travel between 10-20% of the time. On-site in Lynchburg, Virginia Your Day to Day as a Supply Chain Business Analyst: Develops and maintains data preparation and validation routines to support the reporting of metrics. Develops and maintains dashboards and reports that communicate key performance indicators. Delivers reporting solutions by developing and creating new reports including the specification, querying, validation and delivery of standard and custom reports Automates data load and data analysis programs with the goal of improving efficiency. Generates ad-hoc reports as requested by management to support decision-making processes. Assists management in data interpretation and identifying root causes of data anomalies and trends. Ensures proper data governance framework around critical data elements by following established procedural guidelines and best practices. This is inclusive of owning specific reporting "areas" within established reporting tools and serving as the subject matter expert on the reporting framework and design. Researches and develops efficient processes for data mismatches, system audits, and lost data between entities and systems. Works closely with sectional business units to understand their data needs and provide relevant insights for standardizing process optimalization and achieving strategic goals. Provides technical direction, guidance and assistance during project development, maintaining data integrity and quality control of delivered reports Provides end-user support and encourage user adoption. Act as Tier 1 support for end-users of BI tools. Train end-users on basic functionality. Direct users to training material and available resources. Stays current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in business intelligence and data analytics. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or related field. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Minimum 2 years working experience in data analysis, report creation and/or other functional roles using common BI tools including Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services, Tableau, Sisense, SAP Crystal Reports, IBM Cognos, Qlik, etc. Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings. Experience working with Microsoft Office tools including substantial experience in building and maintaining Microsoft SharePoint sites Must have high-level written and verbal communication skills Experience working in a project-oriented, timeline driven environment Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Must be a U.S. citizen Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Supply chain experience is preferred but not required. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling is a plus.
