What will you do?

The Senior Accountant role at KingFisher Boats involves reporting to the Controller and will be based in Vernon, British Columbia. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency across multiple business units. Additionally, you'll collaborate with various departments to manage reconciliations, inventory processes, and capital asset tracking, while supporting strategic initiatives like budgeting and audits.

Job Description

Accounting

  • Review, investigate and analyze financial entries, reports, and information.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts.
  • Identify and investigate reconciling items.
  • Review and reconcile luxury tax, GST, and PST remittances as required.

Inventory

  • Coordinate with required departments to complete inventory for review and reconciliation.
  • Conduct physical boat count on the first of each month.

Capital Assets

  • Maintain fixed asset schedules including tracking and scanning supporting documents for all capital asset additions.

Reporting

  • Lead preparation of monthly financial statements and accompanying reports.
  • Prepare monthly divisional financial statements with the Controller.
  • Investigate any discrepancies and provide input on potential solutions.
  • Ad hoc reporting

Budgets and Year End

  • Support the Controller in completion of the budget and year end audit by compiling supporting documentation as required.

Process Documentation

  • Identify process improvements and update process documentation for the above responsibilities.

Holding and Real Estate Companies.

  • Prepare and review accounting cycle transactions for holding and real estate companies.
  • Consolidate and reconcile related companies.

Other duties as requested.

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities

  • Completion of a College/University program in Accounting.
  • CPA Designation or working towards a designation would be considered an asset.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, professional manners, and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
