CNC Punch Press Operator

AVT Beckett Elevators is a fast-growing elevator manufacturing company located in Pickering, Ontario. We are seeking an Experienced Punch Press Operator to join our day shift team. This is a full-time, in-person role offering medical and dental benefits after a three-month probationary period.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC Amada Turret Punch Presses for sheet metal manufacturing
• Change, maintain, and properly install punches and dies, including inspection, sharpening, and alignment
• Perform accurate and detailed part measurements
• Read and interpret blueprints with precision
• Use precise measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Follow quality control procedures and verify parts for shape, dimensions, and required tolerances
• Read specifications or follow verbal instructions to complete tasks
• Document completed work thoroughly and accurately
• Clean, lubricate, and perform routine machine maintenance
• Support and assist other machine operators as needed
• Perform all additional duties as assigned

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of CNC punch press setup experience
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Skilled in safe operation of equipment, including knowledge of machine safety features and emergency stops
• Experience with punch and die changes, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Capable of working efficiently while maintaining strict quality standards
• Proficient with precise measuring instruments and imperial measuring tape
• Experience in sheet metal fabrication with understanding of gauges and materials
• Fluent in English
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong organizational skills and able to work independently
• Safety-conscious and adherent to all health and safety procedures
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Able to measure to 1/32" and verify parts to tolerance
