Are you an experienced Material Handler looking for a new challenge in Indianapolis, Indiana? We are seeking a skilled professional to manage the flow of materials within our state-of-the-art distribution center. Your role will be essential in ensuring that raw materials, components, and finished goods are moved efficiently and safely. This position demands a strong understanding of logistics and warehouse operations, coupled with a commitment to workplace safety. You will operate various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks, to transport items between different areas of the warehouse. Accuracy in tracking materials and maintaining inventory levels is crucial. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper securing of goods.
- Transport materials to and from production areas, storage locations, and shipping docks.
- Inspect equipment before and after use, reporting any maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate records of material movement and inventory counts.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stocktaking.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.
- Ensure materials are organized and stored correctly to prevent damage or loss.
- Support receiving and shipping functions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Proficiency in operating various warehouse machinery.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform significant lifting, up to 60 pounds.
- Strong understanding of logistics and inventory control.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
