We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Shipping Clerk for our dynamic facility in Orlando, Florida. This role is central to ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and dispatched on time. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, verifying package details, and maintaining shipment records. This position demands a meticulous approach and a strong understanding of logistics and shipping procedures, with an unwavering focus on safety .
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outbound shipping documentation, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and manage delivery timelines.
- Verify that all outgoing shipments match order requirements and are correctly packaged.
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage or discrepancies before dispatch.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the shipping system accordingly.
- Communicate with internal departments (e.g., sales, warehouse) regarding shipment status.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE .
- Track shipments and resolve any shipping-related issues or delays.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Assist with receiving duties as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar shipping/logistics role.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to perform tasks involving some physical exertion, including occasional Lifting of packages up to 40 pounds.
- Strong understanding of shipping procedures, carrier requirements, and basic logistics principles.
- Commitment to maintaining a high standard of workplace safety .
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
