We are hiring a Material Handler for our growing logistics operations in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role is essential for managing the flow of goods within our warehouse. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials safely and efficiently. This includes operating material handling equipment, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring a safe working environment for all. Adherence to strict safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe lifting practices, is paramount. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments.
- Transport materials throughout the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper organization and inventory control.
- Prepare materials for shipping, including staging and labeling.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation and report any issues.
- Follow all warehouse safety guidelines and protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as cycle counts and stocktaking.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet operational goals.
- Adhere to all logistics and company procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment is required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety standards and procedures, including PPE usage.
- Excellent physical condition and stamina.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Experience in a logistics or distribution environment is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
