Our busy distribution center in Des Moines, Iowa, is looking for a certified Forklift Operator to join our team. The Forklift Operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials within the warehouse, loading and unloading trucks, and supporting overall warehouse operations. This role requires a skilled individual with a strong focus on safety and operational efficiency in a demanding logistics environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move pallets and materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Perform routine checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working order.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with picking, packing, and other warehouse tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Follow all guidelines for Lifting and material handling to ensure personal and team safety.
- Utilize appropriate PPE during all operations.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and protocols.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong understanding of material handling techniques.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
