We are hiring a dedicated Material Handler to join our busy warehouse in Richmond, Virginia. As a Material Handler, you will be instrumental in the efficient movement and organization of goods throughout our facility, playing a crucial role in our overall logistics pipeline. You will handle receiving, storing, and dispatching materials, ensuring accuracy and speed. The ideal candidate is physically fit, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe working environment. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growing logistics team.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and sort incoming materials and products.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles using appropriate equipment like pallet jacks.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas, production lines, or shipping docks.
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks as needed and certified.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in maintaining accurate stock levels.
- Prepare materials for shipment, including staging, labeling, and basic packaging.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse, adhering to all Safety regulations.
- Inspect equipment before use and report any issues to maintenance or management.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, especially concerning Safety and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Support the logistics team in achieving operational goals through diligent material handling.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, or material handling role is preferred.
- Ability to perform consistent Lifting, typically up to 50 pounds, throughout the shift.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of material handling equipment operation and warehouse Safety.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
