We are hiring a diligent Shipping Clerk for our facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is integral to our shipping department, focusing on the accurate and timely preparation of all outgoing shipments. You will be responsible for ensuring that all orders are correctly packaged, labeled, and documented for transit. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to upholding our high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. As part of our operations, you will play a key role in our logistics chain, ensuring smooth and efficient product delivery. Responsibilities:
- Prepare outgoing shipments by accurately picking, packing, and labeling orders.
- Verify shipment contents against order details to ensure accuracy.
- Operate shipping software to create shipping labels and documentation.
- Coordinate with carriers for package pickup and delivery schedules.
- Inspect packages for damage before shipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Assist with receiving incoming shipments when necessary.
- Utilize warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Proactively identify and address any issues that may impact shipping timelines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a shipping or warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common carrier platforms.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to perform tasks involving physical exertion, such as walking, standing, and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of wearing appropriate PPE .
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for long periods and work in a warehouse environment.
- Adherence to all safety regulations and company policies, including the use of PPE .
- Flexibility to work varying shifts as needed.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
