Make an impact with our Recovery & Restructuring team as a Manager. This diverse team of professionals assists lenders and debtors with managing challenging financial situations. As a trusted advisor, you'll help clients navigate through times of financial distress.

Responsibilities

  • Execute formal and informal restructurings and administer formal insolvency appointments including bankruptcies, proposals, receiverships, CCAAs, liquidations, etc.
  • Advise lenders, creditors or shareholders through financial reviews, business turnarounds, restructurings, bankruptcies, liquidations, etc.
  • Develop relationships with special loan financiers, insolvency lawyers, business executives, etc.
  • Manage engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition) 
  • Network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities and lead the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet stakeholders' needs
  • Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews
  • Contribute to strategic and operational planning related to stakeholder and practice management, as well as the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes 
  • Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Completion of a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) certification and working to become a Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT)
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is considered an asset
  • 5+ years of insolvency experience, specifically corporate insolvency experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act
  • Strong business and practice development skills
  • Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills
  • Strong strategic planning and conceptual thinking skills
