Linck Child, Youth & Family Supports ("Linck") requires one (1) Kinship Services Worker. This is a permanent, full-time position beginning as soon as possible.   The incumbent provides a variety of services related to the ongoing support of Kinship Services (out-of-care) families. Services related to the initial screening and assessment, orientation, training and approval process for those individuals interested in providing Kinship Services (out-of-care) for a child/youth. They provide services related to the selection and placement of a child/youth in a Kinship Service (out-of-care) home upon the request of another social worker.    Qualifications:
  • Four-year Honours Bachelors degree (BA); Bachelor of Social Work degree (BSW); or Indigenous degree would be an asset.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have completed the Child Welfare Pathway to Authorization Series and/or are Authorized workers.
  • Up to three (3) months of practical experience.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Kinship Service Standards and Ministry Regulations would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of the Differential Response Model for Child Protection in Ontario as well as of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, Ministry standards and guidelines and Agency policies and procedures would be an asset.
  • Completed training in PRIDE curriculum and SAFE home study tool would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of dynamics of separation and attachment between parent figures and children.
  • Preference will be given to persons with a strong understanding and extensive experience working with other cultures, heritages and traditions.
  • A commitment to developing the highest quality culturally-responsive service possible for the various communities that we serve.
  • Computer and keyboarding skills.
  • The ability to communicate in French is an asset.
  • A valid driver's license and use of a reliable personal vehicle.
