We're supporting an innovative organisation in the hydrogen energy sector to recruit a Systems & Process Engineering Team Manager. This is a high-impact role leading a multidisciplinary team responsible for the design, development, and verification of complex systems, with a focus on innovation, quality, and safety. This role combines technical leadership with people management, and is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced R&D environments and is passionate about sustainability and clean technologies. About the Role As Systems & Process Engineering Team Manager, you’ll lead a skilled team of engineers in delivering cutting-edge hydrogen and ammonia-to-hydrogen energy systems, including fuel cells, combustion chambers, and gas processing units. You'll take ownership of the team’s processes, ensure high-quality technical outputs, and contribute hands-on expertise throughout the product development lifecycle. What You’ll Be Doing Leading, mentoring, and developing the Systems & Process Engineering Team Overseeing project resourcing, planning, and team capabilities Ensuring high standards across all technical deliverables and processes Driving continuous improvement in systems engineering practices Supporting cross-functional R&D projects from concept to prototype Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards Liaising with design, development, verification teams, and external partners Contributing to validation, verification, and root cause analysis activities Staying current with industry developments and new technologies What We’re Looking For A degree (or equivalent) in engineering or a relevant scientific field Strong background in systems engineering, ideally within R&D or industrial environments Hands-on experience using the V model and full development lifecycle Excellent problem-solving skills, including fault finding and root cause analysis Proven ability to manage teams, projects, and resources effectively Confident communicator with strong presentation and documentation skills Comfortable balancing technical depth with strategic oversight Desirable: Knowledge of process engineering, gas purification, combustion, and power systems Experience with LabView, MATLAB, Python or similar tools Familiarity with CE/UL standards and certification processes Appreciation of disciplines such as thermodynamics, CFD, or electrical systems Why Apply?
