As an Area Sales Manager you will be a key driver of sales and profit growth across your region, South Central UK (Milton Keynes to Brighton (excl central London)), acting as the primary face of the business to customers. This is a high-impact, field-based role where technical engineering insight and commercial acumen will help shape long-term customer success. Your core focus will be to develop and manage a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities, while strengthening relationships across a portfolio of 100+ end customer accounts. Youll be instrumental in unlocking new value through:
? Consultative selling
identifying customer needs and delivering tailored, solution-led proposals
? Account development
deepening stakeholder relationships and expanding product adoption
? New business generation
leveraging existing networks and market intelligence to open doors
? Pipeline management
navigating complex sales cycles, from £20K transactional deals to £1M+ strategic projects
? Collaborative working
engaging internal experts and cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class solutions Youll have autonomy over your diary, but success comes from proactive engagement, strategic planning, and building long-term customer relationships. What we are looking for Were looking for someone whos curious, empathetic, customer-focused, results-driven, and organised. To succeed in this role, the ideal skills and experience you will likely already have are: ? 3-5 years commercial sales skills in a B2B environment, selling a technical product/solution.
? An understanding of solution selling and complex sales cycles
? Can engage confidently across all levels of stakeholders, from frontline technicians to senior decision-makers.
? A proactive, enthusiastic, and committed mindset to achieving long-term growth of accounts.
? Ideally hold a technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (HND, BEng, MSc) Experience in steam management systems would be ideal but isnt essential, our client will support your learning curve with structured training and mentoring in this area allowing you to have the technical credibility to engage confidently with engineers and decision-makers alike.
