Are you a skilled Forklift Operator? Our San Diego, California warehouse is seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team. This critical role involves the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. You will ensure materials are handled correctly and contribute to the overall smooth functioning of our distribution center. Your commitment to safety and efficiency is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other powered industrial equipment safely and proficiently.
- Load and unload palletized freight from trucks and trailers.
- Move materials from receiving to storage areas, and from storage to shipping.
- Stack and arrange inventory accurately and securely in designated areas.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts and other equipment, reporting any issues.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control through accurate placement and reporting.
- Support shipping and receiving functions as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, promoting safety for all.
- Understand and follow warehouse logistics and operational procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with valid certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and safe lifting techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE at all times.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Understanding of general logistics operations.
