We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with all shipping regulations. Your duties will include preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, verifying package contents, and ensuring proper labeling and staging of outgoing goods. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will play a vital part in our supply chain, ensuring timely delivery to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing orders, including item counts and product specifications.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage and ensure proper packaging methods are used.
- Stage shipments correctly in the designated loading areas.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments processed.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, management, and external partners.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed to support the overall logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a shipping, logistics, or warehouse role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer applications.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally and stand for extended periods.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
