We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Inventory Control Specialist to manage and optimize inventory accuracy within our bustling logistics facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including cycle counting, stock reconciliation, discrepancy investigation, and implementing process improvements. Your expertise will directly contribute to the efficiency and reliability of our supply chain operations. This position requires a sharp analytical mind, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a deep understanding of inventory control principles and best practices within a logistics environment. Adherence to stringent safety standards and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are mandatory. You will work closely with warehouse staff and management to ensure data integrity and operational excellence. Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive cycle counting programs.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies through root cause analysis.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of inventory data within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Implement and monitor inventory control procedures and policies.
- Analyze inventory turnover rates and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to ensure smooth inventory flow.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory records and physical stock.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
- Generate reports on inventory levels, accuracy, and other key performance indicators.
- Train and guide other staff on inventory control best practices.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar logistics role.
- Strong knowledge of WMS and other inventory management software.
- Proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks as needed, including occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
