We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Picker/Packer to join our dynamic logistics team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently picking and packing orders for shipment. Your primary duties will include reading order tickets, locating items within the warehouse, selecting the correct products, and preparing them for safe transit. Attention to detail is paramount to ensure that customers receive the correct items in pristine condition. This is a physically demanding role that requires a commitment to safety protocols and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be working with a variety of products, requiring careful handling and proper packaging techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves according to order specifications.
- Inspect items for damage before packing.
- Pack items securely and efficiently using appropriate materials.
- Label packages accurately with shipping information.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Meet or exceed productivity targets.
- Willingness to assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
- Proper use of required PPE is mandatory at all times.
- This role involves significant lifting, pushing, and pulling.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or picking/packing role is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand order forms and labels.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with safety procedures in a logistics environment.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
