We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Jacksonville, Florida. The Material Handler will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the movement, storage, and organization of materials within our warehouse. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth flow of operations and ensuring that products are handled efficiently and safely. You will work closely with other warehouse personnel to fulfill orders, receive incoming shipments, and prepare outgoing goods. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to grow within the logistics industry.
Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading of materials from trucks and other transportation vehicles.
- Moving materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas using appropriate equipment.
- Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as required (certification may be provided).
- Verifying the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring aisles and walkways are clear.
- Adhering to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assisting with inventory counts and stocktaking as needed.
- Reporting any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to process improvement initiatives.
- Performing other warehouse duties as assigned to support the overall logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including significant Lifting of up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures and the use of PPE.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
