We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in San Jose, California. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our receiving operations. Your primary responsibility will be to unload, inspect, and log all incoming goods, verifying quantities against purchase orders and reporting any discrepancies or damages immediately. This position is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our inventory and supporting the smooth flow of materials through our warehouse. You will work closely with suppliers, drivers, and internal departments to facilitate timely processing of deliveries. A strong understanding of warehouse procedures and a commitment to safety are essential. Attention to detail is paramount as you will be responsible for data entry into our inventory management system. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow within a fast-paced logistics environment. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect all incoming shipments for damage and discrepancies.
- Verify quantities against packing slips and purchase orders, documenting any differences.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the inventory management system.
- Sort and organize received goods for distribution to appropriate warehouse areas.
- Communicate with vendors, carriers, and internal departments regarding shipment status and issues.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and the proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, including inventory counts and stocking.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and workplace best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving role preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced logistics setting.
